The Town Of Turbeville will be celebrating its 100 birthday in 2014. We need volunteers to help on committees and come up with ideas so that we can have a great birthday celebration. Please call Town Hall at 843-659-2781 if you have any ideas or if you are willing to serve on a committee.

Thank you to the following citizens for agreeing to serve on the Birthday Committee: Amanda and Olivia McConnell, Ginie Turbeville, Pat Goodwin, Marti Smith, and Cheryl Wingard. We still need more members.

The Clarendon County Bookmobile has new hours to allow more convenient access for patrons. Beginning Saturday, February 2, 2013, and continuing the first Saturday of each month, the bookmobile will be at the IGA from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and the second and fourth Thursdays of each month from 9:45 AM to 12:30PM. All stops will be at the IGA. A copy of the schedule is available at Town Hall.

East Clarendon JV Softball Tournament will be held at Smith Field Saturday March 23 at 9:00AM.

Turbeville Rec. Baseball and Softball Jamboree will be held at Smith Field on Saturday March 30 at 8:00AM.

Raffle Tickets, $25.00 each sold by the Jr. Chamber/ Ambassadors, proceeds to fund Gibbons Park in Manning. Prize is 4 Season Passes and Parking for The University of South Carolina Home Football games. Tickets may be purchased at Town hall.

A special Thank You to Jason Newsome for his service on Town Council. Jason was elected to the Clarendon 3 School Board and has resigned his position on Town Council. We will have a special election to fill this seat.

A tentative schedule for the Special Election to fill the Council Seat vacated by Jason Newsome will be held on Tuesday, June 18, 2013, filing opens at Noon Monday, April 22 and closes at Noon Friday, May 3, 2013. Candidates can file at Town Hall and must present both a Statement of Candidacy and a Statement of Economic Interest when filing.
