Calendars remembering Clarendon County's Fallen Officers are for sale at Town Hall for $10.00 each. Funds raised from this project go towards helping the families of fallen officers. Each officer that has fallen in the line of duty is honored on the month/date of their End of Tour of duty.

The next meeting of Town Council will be had at 6:30 PM on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at Town Hall. The public is encouraged to attend.

Anyone that receives water from the Town of Turbeville can also sign up for trash collection. If you are interested in this service come by Town Hall and sign up. You do not have to live in the Town of Turbeville to receive this service.

Screen on the Green movie for October 13, 2012 has been canceled and will be replaced with the Christian Prayer Riders concert.

A SECOND CHANCE ANIMAL SHELTER, LOCATED AT 5079 Alex Harvin Hwy between Manning and Summerton, is now holding its annual membership drive. The cost of a yearly membership is $25.00 for an individual or a family.. Membership applications am available at Town Hall. The shelter collects ink/toner cartddges and cell phones for its recycling program. These items may be left at Town Hall to be taken to the shelter.

THE STREET BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT Phase #7: installation of the mast arms is complete.

UPDATE ON WATER SYSTEM EXPANSION: The installation of the water pipe is complete; testing has begun, and meters are being installed.

Becky's Cafe owned and operated by Jerry and Becky Yates Levine in the former Smokehouse Restaurant building is now open. She has a daily special, short orders, baked goods, desserts, cakes, and assorted salads. You may purchase desserts by the piece or you may order a dessert or cake to take home. She will have catering for all occasions.

Coastal Plain Rural Health Network is seeking volunteers to staff a free Healthcare Event for uninsured and underinsured adults. Call Lesley Dykes at 803-435-8463 ext 3658 or for more information.

At the August meeting of Town Council, Council approved the renaming of the Old Rescue Squad Building in Memory of Linda Sharpe. Councli recognized all the hard work and dedication that Linda gave to our Volunteer Rescue Squad and to our community.

Kid's Day will be held at Manning High School on September 22, 2012 from 10 am to 1pm.

Nominations needed!! Clarendon County Chamber of Commerce is asking for nominations for the following Awards: 2012 Citizen of the Year, Business Person of the Year, and 2012 Alex and Cathy Harvin Ambassador of the Year. You can pick up a nomination form from Town Hall or you may send in your nominations along with reason why you feel your nominees deserve to recogniged. Return your paperwork to The ChamAes at North Brooks Street, Manning, SC 29102 by Oct. 19, 2012.

Turbeville Christmas Parade is scheduled for December 1, 2012. If you are interested in being in the parade call Ike Ard or come by Town Hall for an application.

The Turbeville Recreation Football Jamboree will be Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 9:00am at Smith Field. Each team will play 2 quarters. The cost is $2.00 for Adults and $1.00 for Students; 5 and under are free. Coaches and players are free. The monies collected will be used for the purchase of trophies for division winners and runners-up.

There will be teams from Turbeville, Clarendon County, and Kingstree. Please come out and support our boys.
