Tammy Hicks was elected mayor of Turbeville in November 2023, and she previously had served on the town council for Turbeville. Tammy grew up in Lynchburg, SC and attended Hudgens Academy. She moved to the Turbeville area in 1976 and has two children, Pat & Deanna that both attended Walker Gamble Elementary and East Clarendon High School. Tammy also has three grandchildren, Lillie, Allie, & Rivers. Tammy is currently employed with Pepsi Cola of Florence where she has worked for 35 years.
Tammy is a member of the Turbeville Southern Methodist Church where she serves in many areas including the hospitality committee and in the sound room during services.
Tammy was the first female fire fighter in the town of Turbeville under the direction of Van Green and she also was a charter member of the Turbeville Rescue Squad. Tammy also worked with the Clarendon County Sheriff’s office and the SC Highway Patrol in Sumter where she was over dispatch operations.
Currently Tammy enjoys serving on the Puddin Swamp Festival committee and is eager to work for and with the Turbeville residents.
